Snare Drum Exorcism is a one-man band that delves into the realms between musical act and sonic performance. Through deconstructed improvisations, the project explores the fusion of snare drums, metal percussions, and various electronic effects. All that's needed for the performance is a table and a sound system, or a powerful bass amp. The show is enhanced with visual elements, akin to a live sonorization experience. In the absence of a projector, a slightly modified setlist is available. Snare Drum Exorcism is adaptable to both intimate venues and larger theatres or clubs.
The entire concept focuses on exploring the vast and incredible timbral variety produced by an ensemble of essential percussion instruments. Techniques applied to the snare drum and metallic percussion instruments exploit the versatility of tone and its harmonic combinations. The performance is based on deconstructed improvisation over bases produced by a low-frequency generator.
During the performance, one witnesses a journey through sonic images ranging from a phase of primitive calmness to violent and deconstructed improvisations that explore tranquil ecstatic bubbles to paroxysmal hardcore explosions. This sonic experience thus transforms into an emotional journey where chaotic dimensions and noisy slashes blend into fluid psychedelic wanderings. The score is determined by the stream of consciousness originating from a continuous kinetic conversation-merging with the snare drum.
The execution involves live recording, namely real-time manipulation of played or prerecorded parts. The performance is accompanied by a visual spectacle, akin to a live soundtracking. For the exhibition, only a table, a sound system (or a powerful bass amplifier), and a projector are required. The set duration is 35 minutes.

"The snare drum represents the forces of hell, yet it is in contact with the celestial realm. Through the friction of mechanical energies, the act of purification takes place."
